Assistant Professor in Voice, Speech, and Accents

The School of Drama seeks a dynamic and experienced voice, accent, and speech instructor to join our renowned faculty. The ideal candidate will be passionate about teaching, have a strong foundation in somatic approaches, and be knowledgeable and highly skilled in teaching and coaching Accents.

Responsibilities:

Teach various courses, including first-year speech, third-year accents, fourth-year voice, and high school conservatory voice.

Provide coaching support for productions.

Collaborate with faculty and staff on curriculum development and other initiatives.

Advise and mentor students.

Participate in faculty governance, service, and creative research.

Required Qualifications

MFA or equivalent professional experience.

3-5 years of teaching experience.

Expertise in voice, speech, and accents.

Strong foundation in somatic approaches to speech, accents, and voice.

Knowledge of major vocal pedagogies such as Linklater, Fitzmaurice, Colaianni Speech, Knight-Thompson, Roy Hart, Rodenburg, Berry, or degree from Central School, etc.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Ability to work collaboratively with diverse populations.

A commitment to student success.

Preferred Qualifications:

Directing experience

Experience in a conservatory setting.
