The Department of Theater in the College of Arts and Sciences at Case Western Reserve University is accepting applications for an Assistant Professor of Voice and Acting (tenure-track) beginning in the 2025-2026 academic year.


CWRU's Department of Theater is located in the heart of Cleveland, a city with a vibrant performing arts scene. The Department presents 6 productions a year (4 undergrad and 2 MFA) Our partnership with LORT theater, Cleveland Play House, has MFA students performing and understudying in their MainStage season. Cleveland offers many artistic opportunities for faculty both in film and theatre. The Department performs in two state-of-the-art theaters at the Maltz Performing Arts Center. MFA productions take place at CPH's 125-seat black box theater. The successful candidate will be the primary voice specialist for the nationally ranked Case Western Reserve University/Cleveland Play House MFA Acting Program and will also teach at the undergraduate level based on their areas of expertise.


Other duties include:




  • Production voice coaching

  • advising

  • university, college, and department service.


Qualifications:


Candidates must demonstrate a pedagogical and professional profile. A completed Master of Fine Arts degree, advanced professional training and experience, and a minimum of three (3) years of successful teaching at the college level are required. A successful candidate will be versed in a variety of techniques (eg: Linklater, Lessac, Fitzmaurice, Rodenburg, etc.), with the ability to teach a sequential professional four-semester voice curriculum to MFA students.
