EMERGING ARTIST IN RESIDENCE 2023 - Design in Theatre

The Penn State Altoona Performing Arts program invites applications for its Fall 2023 Emerging Artist in Residence in Design (lighting or costume). The residency offers a lighting or costume designer opportunities to design for a theatrical stage production and a dance concert.

Job Duties

Teaching one course in general theatre during the Fall 2023 Semester (August 21, 2023 - December 8, 2023).
Complete design(s) for Fall productions and serve as a resource to performing arts students.

This opening offers a salary of $10,000 plus semester long housing. Additional benefits are not included.

Requirements and Qualifications

The Emerging Artist we seek will present a strong record of design for a variety of productions and selection will be based on the quality of the work submitted, as determined by the selection committee.
A Master's degree in Theatre Design (Lighting or Costume) or a related field, earned within the past three years (2020 or later), is required.
University-level teaching experience is preferred.
