Position Description


Reporting to the Associate Provost for Arts and Culture, the Project Manager will coordinate a portfolio of complex projects identified as priorities by the Harvard University Committee on the Arts (HUCA). Projects may involve:


  • Conducting research and analysis and preparing presentations, talking points, memos, and reports.

  • Preparation, staffing and follow-up for various committee meetings

  • Managing and facilitating events such as conferences or performances including program logistics and communication



Collaborates with Associate Provost and HUCA leadership to advance project goals. Responsibilities may include preparing agendas and briefing materials, producing meeting notes, drafting reports, tracking, budgeting, and completing action items. Responsibilities encompass a broad and varied scope from managing day-to-day logistics to longer-range planning. Manages all project details in keeping with overall objectives. Fosters strong working relationships throughout the University and at times, the Cambridge and Boston communities.

Basic Qualifications

Candidates MUST meet the following basic qualifications in order to be considered for this role:

B.A. plus a minimum of five years of relevant experience (additional education may count toward years of experience).


Additional Qualifications and Skills



  • Strong preference for work experience in arts administration, museums, galleries, public art projects or performance arts management

  • Previous work in universities a plus

  • A high level of organization, flexibility, and the ability to manage multiple challenging projects simultaneously.

  • Commitment to teamwork and excellent interpersonal skills, with the capacity to build strong professional relationships and to communicate effectively within a complex organization.

  • Ability to work independently, establish own goals, set priorities, and carry out project implementation tasks with limited direction.



  • Ability to work collaboratively with a variety of stakeholders

  • Excellent writing and oral skills, including the ability to write and communicate to a broad range of audiences.

  • Ability to maintain confidential information.
