The Theatre Department at Binghamton University seeks a full-time tenure-track Assistant Professor of Acting with a specialization in Voice and Speech/Dialects to begin in the Fall 2027 semester. We are looking for an artist-teacher whose work bridges acting, voice, and embodied performance practice, and whose pedagogy is rooted in both rigorous training and a spirit of inquiry, collaboration, and discovery. The successful candidate will teach voice and speech/dialects in BFA and BA programs, teach acting across a variety of levels, coach and/or direct departmental productions. We are particularly interested in candidates who see voice not as a separate discipline, but as deeply interconnected with the actor's body, imagination, and relationship to text. Other classes may be taught depending upon the candidate's field of specialization. Additional areas of specialization may include heightened language, movement, physical theatre, clown, intimacy direction, stage combat or other embodied performance forms.
