Nebraska Wesleyan University invites applications for a one-year Visiting Assistant Professor position with expertise in Acting and Directing for the Theatre Arts Program. The start date for this position will be August 2021.

Responsibilities:

This faculty member will play an important role in supporting NWU Theatre's BFA degree programs. Primary responsibilities in this position include teaching acting and directing classes. Depending on the applicant's qualifications and areas of specialization, other duties may include stage direction of productions for Nebraska Wesleyan University's theatre season, as well as teaching other theatre classes such as script analysis, stage management, voice, movement, acting for the camera, voiceover acting, playwriting, and/or musical theatre.

Qualifications:

  • Terminal degree (MFA or PhD) in Theatre or MA with five or more years of professional acting and directing experience.

  • Previous teaching experience preferred.

  • Ability to work collaboratively with other faculty, directors and designers.

  • Ability to maintain a strong, positive, professional approach to theatre training.
